Gavilgad is I think is not maintained, even though you need to pay entry fees here but not seen that pathways to fort is maintained by department. We are not asking about beautification of fort..even we don't want that but at least the path through which we explore fort should be clear and landmark and markings should be available .. this fort area is too much bigger to explore.

Completed this parikrama with Raigad district youth club in DEC 2019. It's actually a big event kind of thing and well managed by them. While going through path anyone can come to know that they have well prepared path of pradakshina just before even as the forest is dense when you are just below the jagdishwar temple side (thats approx guess as we can not see even raigad from there). But it's well managed event by them..must appreciate.

Best to visit till FEB post rainy season over as post that backwater level will be decreased and you have to walk more to reach forest office. At Forest office there is check post where they will examine your backpack and check how many plastic you are carrying. They will make note of it and then you have to keep around 500 rupees as a deposit against inventory you are carrying.

This 500 will be returned to you once you complete the trek and show your backpack again to forest office and they will confirm that you have not thrown any plastic in jungle or on fort by counting again the inventory.
This is actually good initiative by forest department.

There you can park your vehicle or you can park before the bridge if you feel it's risky. From that small village when went towards the fort , you have to cross forest then some rock patch. Critical rock patch is facilitated with ladder there hence no worries on that part and hence trek is marked as moderate. On the top you will found one temple and one pond also. Enjoyed a lot there.

Anjneri is well moderate trek as mentioned by admin.. vehicle can get you till the place from where actually steps starts. Saturday Sunday locals from nashik mostly visit this place but in weekdays you will not face any crowd.

When you start climbing through steps you will found two small jain temple also there so jain devotees will be also there till those temples..

Huge table land is there before you reach anajani mata temple and even more huge table land at the top where maruti mandir is there.
